History of International Restoration Church

International Restoration Church and Ministries was birthed on 04/03/2005 by its founder Pastor John Monger at Timai Bhutanese Refugee Camp, Jhapa East Nepal. He conducted Short Term Bible Schools and trained 316 young men and women from Bhutan, Nepal and India. He started multiple churches, conducted open air gospel crusades, leadership seminars and conferences in and outside of the refugee camps in Nepal, Assam India, and Bhutan border.
Pastor John Monger and his family came to the United States in Austin, Texas on 09/08/2009. One month after they arrived, they started IRC in their apartment on 10/4/2009. Initially, there were three members: Pastor John, his wife, Tia, and his son, Joshua. Pastor John recalls his experience:
"We gathered at our apartment and cried before God. We were very new in the United States and went through a very difficult time. We were missing our home country and missing the ministry and church in Nepal and India. We were spending time in prayer and asking God to show us the way. We started sharing the gospel to our neighbors and friends. After a few days, Kamal Rai’s family accepted Christ. We started a family devotion at our apartment every night. Kamal’s family started growing in the Lord. After 6 months, we moved to apartment # 118 and started Sunday worship meetings. Souls started growing and our apartment room became filled with new believers. We started praying for a larger room and God answered our prayer after one year. God provided a worship room in Austin Cornerstone Church through Pastor Rick Randall. On January 9, 2011, we had our first Sunday worship service in room # 220. On the first day of our service at Austin Cornerstone Church, 3 people accepted Christ. Praise the Lord!"
Presently, there are over 200 members at IRC where the Gospel is preached, the Word of God is taught, and the hopeless and the needy can receive prayer. The tithes and offerings collected are used to support IRC, the Gospel preaching and church planting ministries. Glory be to God!
