Welcome to IRC - Jesus saves!
IRC is a non-denominational church. We welcome all nations, tribes and tongues to worship true and living God and to hear the Word of God, be transformed and healed spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The Word of God is preached in English and translated into Nepali. (Revelation 7:9-10; John 4:23-24)
Sunday Worship Service:
Our Sunday Services begin at 10 AM at 10200 Sprinkle Road, Austin, Tx 78754.
Founding of IRC:
The Holy Spirit is the founder and leader of International Restoration Church.
Pastor John Monger is the pastor of IRC. He was originally born into a Buddhist home in Bhutan. In 1992, when he was 15 years old, a boy shared with John the story of Jesus and invited him to a hidden church in the jungle. John accepted Christ and his life was changed forever. As a young Christian, both his family and community rejected him. He was forced to leave his family home and the village. As a result, he moved in with a Christian family. Later that year, he was arrested and tortured by the Bhutanese police and forced to make one of two choices: to renounce his belief in Jesus Christ or leave the Bhutan. He refused to renounce his faith in Christ so the government forced him to leave the country. Political oppression in Bhutan forced 150,000 Bhutanese to leave their country. They fled to neighboring Nepal to live in the refugee camps.
John started preaching the Gospel and planting churches in and outside of the refugee camps. On September 2, 1994, John was arrested while sharing the Gospel in Danabari, Ilam Nepal. He was tortured and kept in police custody for 28 days along with 10 other Bhutanese Christians. They were sentenced to prison for three and a half years. Voice of the Martyrs of America and Tortured for Christ in India defended this injustice by demanding their release. Christians around the world prayed and in November 1996, after suffering for 15 months in prison, John and his friends were released.
After being released from prison, John went to Kohima, Nagaland, India and attended Kohima Bible College. It was in Kohima that John met Tia and they married after he graduated from seminary. John returned to the refugee camps in Nepal with Tia where they got the vision of restoration for all people, not by human power, not by intellect, or by money power, but by connecting people into Jesus Christ the Lord. With much prayer and confirmations of the Holy Spirit, Restoration Church was birthed on July 8, 2007 in Timai Refugee Camp in Nepal. They conducted annual short term Bible Schools and trained 316 young men and women from Bhutan, Nepal and India. Multiple churches were planted. Open air gospel crusades were conducted along with leadership seminars and conferences in and outside of the refugee camps in Nepal, Assam India, and Bhutan border.
On September 8, 2009, Pastor John Monger, the founding Pastor of Restoration Church and his family immigrated to Austin, Texas, USA. After arriving, they experienced confusion, fear and challenges with all of the changes they experienced, which caused Pastor John to cry out to the Lord, who spoke to him while he was reading Acts 18:9-10 to say: “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.” On October 4, 2010, Pastor John was envisioned to extend Restoration Church to Austin, so he planted the church from his apartment and named it International Restoration Church.

IRC DISCIPLESHIP AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Every year we conduct Discipleship and Leadership Training in the Summer. This year it will be July 1-31, 2024. We trust on God for everything. We pray and ask God for all financial provisions through sponsors so we are able to provide free lodging and food to all the students who come from around the USA and Canada to attend as well as for the pastor's and missionaries travel expenses, lodging and meals. Your sponsorship, prayers, and financial contributions are greatly appreciated and are helping to train up the next generation to go and preach the gospel to all the nations. Pastors John's heart is to prepare many young men and women to be the mighty army of God to preach the gospel of Christ all over the world (Acts 1:8, Matthew 24:14).
